Description
Ren and Ashley have been freediving the North Carolina waters since 2007. They both agree that one of the biggest and most exciting attractions to the area is the abundant wildlife and summer time sharks. North Carolina is a premiere Sand Tiger Shark (Carcharias taurus) diving destination. If you have ever seen photos of this magnificent creature, more than likely, it was photographed in NC.
Sand Tigers, aka Gray Nurse or Ragged Tooth, sharks inhabit temperate, subtropic seas worldwide and are know for their docile behavior. These gentle giants can range in size here in North Carolina from 3 feet in length to over 10 feet. They are also the only shark species that will be seen on the surface gulping air which allows them to suspend above a wreck with little to no effort.
Join us on our monthly pilgrimage to enjoy these docile creatures all while practicing your freediving technique under direct, professional supervision.
